MARGARET CLARKE was born Weymouth, Dorset 1938, but she has lived in Leicester for many years. Story writing began for her in school with a descriptive passage about a fairground at night which progressed to rhyming poetry and variuous other ideas connected to writing. Composition was her strong point as she always had a head full of ideas and a good imagination.

She grew up reading Enid Blyton stories from a small child to a teenager. Mallory Towers made such an impression on her that she wanted to go to Boarding school, but her mother wasn't to be persuaded!

The idea for the Little Caravan stories came from her holidays spent in a caravan with her husband Peter and their two sons.  So many things happened she felt it was worthwhile sharing these events with other children.

Last year she went to a Writer's workshop at Radio Leicester and this is where the door opened for her, and the Littler Caravan began to relate tales from the holidays the Clarke family enjoyed.
