Arts Council England bid successful
The really good news is that Crystal Clear Creative has now been awarded a substantial grant by the Arts Council England to cover start-up expenses, web design costs and capital costs.
Crystal Clear is launched!
The 4th of March this year saw the launch of Crystal Clear Creative as an official organisation and its website. The launch took place in the Bistro of the Sir Robert Martin Theatre at Loughborough University. The turn-out was excellent and the evening included readings of stories, poems and plays by a mixture of professionals and newcomers. Writers and performers featured included Deborah Tyler-Bennett, Jane Liddiard, Jonathan Taylor, Simon King, Maria Orthodoxou and many others. The event featured in a range of industry magazines and local newspapers. Thanks to all involved including the audience!
Website up and running
The website is now up and running. There is still work to do here, of course, but do have a look at it. Details of the organisation, biographies of members, information about agency work, as well as, of course, poetry, plays and stories to download, listen to and read are all there. New recordings happening soon
Dates have already been set aside to record new material that has come from members of Crystal Clear Creative. If you are interested in voicing and acting then please get in touch.
Always on the look out for new material
In order to ensure it keeps moving forwards, the organisation is always looking for new material. If you have anything that you would like to be voiced - whether poetry, a play, a story, or anything else then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Crystal Clear to launch courses in writing for radio
As an organisation, Crystal Clear Creative is looking to develop one-day writing courses for those wishing to write for radio. The courses look likely to begin in October 2004 and more details will follow shortly.
Other exciting developments
Many plans for new projects are in the pipeline. Later in the year, the organisation will be looking to put on another evening of live performance at the Y Theatre in Leicester. Later in March, Jonathan Taylor and Robin Webber-Jones, the organisations founders, are going to meet West Midlands Poet Laureate, Julie Bowden, to discuss future ideas and to get more people from the West Midlands involved .
